Philippine Trip: City Mall

City Mall is one of the Zamboanga City’s malls. It’s a lot smaller than KCC, but there are still plenty of things to do and stores to shop in.

I was dropped off at City Mall so I could go exploring. The front of City Mall is drop-off only and on the side of the mall is a free parking lot.

There are armed guards outside and to enter from any entrance of the mall, there is a metal detector and more armed guards. It’s different compared to US malls, but it didn’t bother me. I like knowing I was safe while at the mall.

When I was there, there was an event going on for taekwondo and a bunch of kids were either competing or practicing off to the side. The front of the mall was crowded with people watching the event, so it took some maneuvering to get through the crowd.

In the front, there was a pharmacy/drug store called Watson’s on one side and a food court on the other side.

The further into City Mall, there were plenty of other stores and places to eat as well as a playground of sorts for little children to play in.

There are daily events at City Mall like Zumba and acoustics. I wasn’t able to go to a daily event, but they sound like fun.
